Copper

If you don't think things have gotten really bad...I had a 10' copper water pipe I no longer needed. I placed it outside my patio door (to take it to the dumpster later). 62 minutes later, it vanished! What?, do thieves have some sort of copper radar?
I live in a nice area of Beloit; do these thieves live underground and come out whenever there's something they want that doesn't belong to them? They are about as crazy as me typing to myself on Facebook...well almost, at least I'm not a thief.
Now that I know they are near, I'm gonna setup my webcam to catch them in the act. This ought to be fun....but out copper now...gotta think of another bait...I know!

Youth and Age

Did you know that a child born 2,000 ago, if born in the same technological state we are in today, has the same ability to go to school and learn to become a scientist, just as your own child can? Social Musings on Facebook about Beloit

• If you go to the ocean, or the great lakes and can see to the bottom and are amazed beyond words...You could have lived in Beloit near the Rock River.
• If your mother has ever yelled down the stairs, "Ya'll come up here and look at this before I flush it...." No wait, that's a red neck, not a Beloiter!
• If you think Carp and Bull heads are one of the major foods groups, you are most likely a Beloiter.
• If the term, "Welfare Bubble" means nothing to you, clearly you are not from Beloit.
• If you are terrified of leaches, you may have skinny dipped in the Turtle creek.
• If you remember the Majestic or the Ellis theaters in downtown Beloit!
• If you know anyone that bought an over priced, high mileage lemon from Vic Hansen & Sons....you might be from Beloit.
• Remember North States Filling station on the corner of Pleasant and White Ave. Five boys in white would rush to your car, fill your tank, clean your windows, check your oil, all for the cost of the gas! I loved that job. George Mitok was the owner.
• You might be from Beloit if you crave those Pizza Crackers from Tilleys Pizza house.
• If you have ever stood on the pipes below the dam snagging fish with treble hooks, you might be a Beloiter (and incredibly stupid).
• If you have no idea what-so-ever the purpose of the white building called the "Brown Swiss organization" is and what they are? You might be from Beloit.
• Ever played 9-ball at the Carom room and there was so much smoke your throat was sore for days.
• You are from Beloit if you consider Maple Ave and Keeler Ave synonymous with a "shooting gallery" and avoid them like the plague.
